Genesis of Ganareth

It seems that people are asking questions about this new world that appeared somewhere in the galaxies. Some even doubt of its reality... For those who won't believe their eyes, here is a sensational article from one of our greatest academics. This text explains what was hidden, even though some sectarians may be unhappy about it. Let us honour the Genesis of Lystullborne, which completely renews the genre. We thank him for having chosen our humble mouthpiece to reveal his theory to the world...

Genesis of Living Things on Ganareth,
or How Various Beings Came to Be.

(by Lystullbone, High Elf, Lecturer at the University of Al Drifa, Secrets of the Earth division)

Some say that Gothar created everything as it is today, and that the remains we sometimes discover in the deep soils and deserts are those of legendary giants and bizarre beings too old for Elf records, although quite accurate, to mention.
This stance would make the Great God a kind of accountant who would have spent his time watching over every living thing, from the tiniest insect to the greatest monster alike. But honestly, what could we think of a god who would spend his Holy Time providing each individual wildcat with sharp teeth, then giving legs to each of its potential preys, then this, then that, without end, altering elements constantly, for if the legs are too efficient, the wildcat cannot kill its prey and has to die, and if the wildcat's teeth are too sharp, it creates problems related to breeding and the species fades away...

News from the beta
Over 30 new spells, along with new races and sound effects, are included in the new beta test for Dark and Light, which is aimed at commercial release in April, 2005. The new array of spells, with their impressive visual effects, can now be used during fights, assuming, of course, players have invested a few skill points.
We created these new spells with two goals in mind, to have maximum power and to be the most fun and outrageous New spell categories for Fighting include Snake Attack (Glue, Mamba Attack and Python Power), and Weapons Expertise (for Swords, Crossbows, and Critical Hilts Expertise, among others). The Healing axis also includes new spells for Healing Fundamentals Skills (such as Self Healing, Quick Healing and Instant Healing), God Gifts Skills (God Armor Shield Expansion and God Abilities Expansion, and others), and for Guardians Invocation Skills (spells for Wolves, Bears and Pets Healing).
New spells that may be used any time are also included for Energy Power, Molecules Control and Spirits Appeal Skills.
"We created these new spells with two goals in mind, to have maximum power and to be the most fun and outrageous", says Frederic Caille, CEO of publisher Farlan Entertainment. "We expect our beta testers will enjoy these new spells and how they look on the screen when they are activated."
Beta testers may continue playing human characters, but now can play new Level 5 Elf characters (Dark, Wooden, High and Half) with 10 skill points to allocate on three axes - Fighter, Healer and Caster. In addition, the new Dark and Light beta includes new sounds and music, as well as a new focal lens change to improve immersion.
The current closed beta is planned to run through very early 2005.

The cult of the bear - Worship of Ursus
The origins of this cult are lost in the mists of time, back when Ganareth people lived in caves. The cult started as a guilty feeling more than as a classical worship. Indeed, in these hard times you had to chase animals, usually bears, out of their caves in order to get a home. Soon, our ancestors thought that they needed to pay the animals back, in order to keep the gods quiet. They used to tie a virgin to a sturdy post and to cover her body with honey, and then they left her to the ever-hungry ursids.
Little by little, they organized a ceremony related to this sacrifice, and with time, it became a true liturgy. Then people stopped living in caverns, but the ceremony remained. As bears became less common, people used a dagger instead. The ceremony lost its original purpose, but it was very cruel nonetheless. This is undoubtedly why it became illegal at the beginning of the golden age, and then fell into oblivion.
However, even if the name "Ursus" is mentioned in the title, we know nothing about this divinity.

During this time, somewhere in Ganareth...
A beta event by Alchemic Dream GMs

The duke Enoch mentally reviewed the few men who answered his urgent call, while smoothing his moustache, in great concentration. Then he drew an imaginary circle on the map that had been spread before him, and started to talk.
"We think the traitor is currently hiding in the woods between Lakzano and Jaké Klaskay. Light warships have crossed the strait as we speak, and are probably sailing in L'Endlichtrund to land in a random creek. We have five or six hours left to capture the rat before he does something really bad. In order to reach the place, you will need to avoid the lands of baron Lockhlam, remember that we are in rather bad terms with him, and I don't want him to delay or disturb you, or worse, to ask questions about your mission. Therefore, I ask you to bypass the area of L'Grung and Tar'Rind by the east, and avoid the forest of Calenlad at all costs. I know that your route will be much longer, but it goes through friendly lands, which will help you travelling faster. My dragons will bring you to Longview, then you will trade them for ranchos. Then, follow Valé Kopin to Lakzano, but stay away from people and places, remain as discreet as you can".
Then, folding his map and gesturing towards a man who had remained silent, he added: "Faithful Honorius will be your guide, you can count on him! How, you must depart, time is short".

The small group of adventurers exited the tent that had been hastily planted, and walked to the dragon pen. Nobody thought about asking the duke who this traitor was, and what kind of precious documents he had stolen, but they would have enough time to ask Honorius about it anyway.
The sun was already going down on the horizon, twilight was close, and as they flew over La Forée, they saw the first stars over L'Threz.  [...] Read next.
